  17. <p>     She's the Michael Jordan of soccer, but that's like being
  18. the Rodney Dangerfield of comedy. MICHELLE AKERS-STAHL is the
  19. star of the U.S. women's soccer team and is dazzling fans at
  20. the world championships in China. Right now she makes $1,000 a
  21. month, or roughly Jordan's shoelace allowance, but her fancy
  22. footwork almost earned her a kicking tryout with the Dallas
  23. Cowboys. "Some people in the U.S. don't know what a soccer ball
  24. looks like," Akers-Stahl observes. "That's frustrating."
